AboutMe

I was born and raised in West Chester, Ohio, a bustling suburban city-town about 20 minutes north of Cincinnati. I graduated from Lakota East High School in May of 2010 and the following Fall enrolled as a Walter Williams Scholar at the University of Missouri. Nearly four and a half years later, I graduated in December 2014 with two degrees - both Bachelors of Arts in Journalism in the Convergence Broadcast emphasis area and International Studies with a focus on East Asia. I also have a minor degree in Spanish and have earned a Multicultural Certificate. I speak three languages - English, Spanish and Japanese - and spent my junior year from May 2012 until April 2013 studying language and culture abroad in various cities in Japan. I have a vested interest in globalization and in the future, hope to implement my multimedia skill set in growing journalism on the international market. I have a particular interest in Japanese anime, manga and dramas. I am also notably drawn towards the prominence and implementation of classical Japanese culture in modern society. This extends to a global interest into not only the popular cultural trends of eastern Asia, but the world at large. In addition to a greater understanding of international points of interest, I am also passionate about sports. Like the music industry, I see sports as a way to transcend cultures and reach everyone on a fundamental level. I love to read great works of literature, so any suggestions for good works would be greatly appreciated in addition to any good movies or musical artists people think worthy of recognition, regardless of language or genre.
