Skills & Abilities
Editing and production
· Through my work at the MU School of Journalism, I am well versed in a variety of editing and production software both for presentations and multimedia reporting. This includes skills in Adobe Creative Suite, Final Cut Pro, Audacity, Audition, Soundslides, Microsoft Office, AVID Pro, iNews, TimelineJS, Klynt and Google Fusion Tables.
· I also am familiar with how to use recording equipment such as the Nikon D7000 and D7100 DSLR cameras, the Canon XA10 camera, as well as Marantz and Zoom voice recorders.
Communication
· As a multimedia journalist, I am well versed in gathering and disseminating large quantities of information in a simple, easy to understand format. I am confident in my ability to interview and speak comfortably with people in most any setting.
Leadership
· Lakota East Spark newsmagazine – Managing Editor: As a member of the Editorial Board for our high school newsmagazine, I, along with 6 other board members, oversaw more than 120 student staff members for production of our monthly publication.
· Project Management – MU Convergence Editing: As part of this class, my job for a third of the semester was to act as a project manager for students in the Convergence Reporting class as they created multimedia news stories. I help
Experience
Moving Specialist| Fry-Wagner Moving & Storage, Columbia, Missouri | May 2011 – December 2014
· My responsibilities included loading and unloading for household and commercial moves., inventory and inspection for those moves as well as preparing items for long-term and short-term storage. I also worked for the third party service, Bridgeton Service Company, to install and disconnect major appliances and prepare fragile or expensive items for shipping.
Project Producer | Newsy, Columbia, Missouri | May 2014 – October 2014
· Using Final Cut Pro, I was responsible for editing and producing video content for stories for Newsy.com, a news analysis website and mobile app
Teaching Assistant | University of Missouri | August 2014 – December 2014
· Key responsibilities included teaching and assisting Convergence Journalism students how to use equipment and editing software related to the Convergence Reporting class. I also edited and uploaded student work for the KOMU 8, the university’s NBC affiliate TV station.

· My responsibilities include loading and unloading moving trucks and preparing household and commercial moves for storage. I also conducted shipment inventories and exceptions reports for any damaged or missing items.

· My responsibilities in this seasonal job consisted of handling announcing and scoreboard operational duties for a variety of my high school sporting events in addition to recording and reporting softball statistics for the Greater Miami Conference. Other sports included football, basketball, soccer and baseball.
Intern | The Dayton Daily News, Dayton, Ohio | June 2010 – August 2010
· For eight weeks I interned as a daily reporter for the Lifestyle section of The Dayton Daily News newspaper. I worked three shifts per week and would typically complete a day-turn story during each shift. I also worked on a long-term story that ran as a Lifestyle center spread in my last edition.
Intern | Biwako Broadcasting Company, Hikone, Japan | February 2013 – April 2013
· For eight weeks, myself and a fellow intern observed the inner workings of the Hikone branch of the Biwako Broadcasting Company. At the end of our internship, we aired a report that we had scripted and shot, completely in Japanese, explaining American interest in Japanese pop culture.
Managing Editor | 35mm Magazine, Cincinnati, Ohio | June 2015 – September 2015
· I was a founding editor for 35mm Magazine for its first issue. I partnered with Editor-in-Chief Nick Sabatalo with the goal of creating a quarterly, coffee table book-esque magazine dedicated to photography shot strictly on film with no digital alteration and the philosophy of the photographers behind them.
Paraprofessional/Educational Aide | Mason City Schools, Mason, Ohio | September 2015 - Present
· I work at Mason High School as support educator in classrooms of a variety of subjects, including all core subjects. I work primarily with students on Individual Education Plans, who have been identified as needing extra help in class. My responsibilities include, but are not limited to, redirecting student focus, helping on classroom assignments, proctoring tests and quizzes, stimulating class discussions and, on occasion, leading lessons.
